Direction
Initial 2D studies & concepts. Consideration of materiality began with metals, plastics, and acrylic. Light source is stored in the base.
Thumbnail exploration
Began perspective studies & alternate color options. Simplifying design & manufacturing process.
Iterations
Considering type of bulb/strip for light source. Assembly preparation & play of materiality.
Finalizing Concept
Adjusted tolerances, various connection points & slots, and altered button size. Began the final 3D print and design.
Analysis & Final Adjustments
Finalized all pieces & prepared for 3D printed assembly. Main adjustments included the button holder and button gap on the back of the shell.
Assembly
Solidified remaining components & created a poster, acting as the voice behind the design. With help from Google Gemini, provided an in-context setting for the product.
